This is the cover art for the upcoming character art book that Jinhyung Kim and I have written early 2009. In this book, Jinhyung shares his knowledge about concept arts, and I do the same about general 3D character creation, mainly focusing on zbrush sculpting and the workflow I use. Our skills and knowledge always evolve over time, and due to the amount of time that has passed since I wrote this book, I now see so many areas that I could have done better job with; however, having put everything that I got from my experience in this book, I believe this will be an interesting and helpful book for anyone who has passion toward 3D. This book will start selling only in Korea since I wrote it in Korean for a specific Korean publisher. But who knows if this will ever be translated in other languages? ;-) 이것은 김진형씨와 제가 2009년 초에 원고를 완성한 캐릭터 아트 책의 표지 디자인입니다. 김진형씨가 컨셉 아트 관련 내용을 맡았고, 제가 지브러쉬를 중심으로 한 3d 캐릭터 작업에 대한 전반적인 내용을 다뤘습니다. 지식이나 실력은 시간이 지날 수록 진보하게 되어있기에, 책을 완성한 뒤 1년이 지난 이 시점에서 보면, 부족하게만 여겨지는 부분들이 눈에 띄지만, 그 당시의 저의 모든 것을 쏟아 부었으므로, 3d에 대한 열정이 있으신 분들에게 유용하고 흥미로운 책이 될 것이라 믿습니다. |
